I have unfortunately been struck with a middle-age onset illness that has cost me a considerable amount of daily mobility on most days. Some are better than others, some are even nearly normal. Some are very bad though. Those are the days when I would be bedridden pretty much if not for my arsenal of mobility tools. The RMS dressing tool is one awesome example of the many I have. It’s uses are many more than advertised. With this I can get shoes off without bending over, I can put jackets, pants etc on and off easier. I can pick up shoes, sandals, anything heavier that I can get the “arm” through that I can’t pick up with my grabbers. I can pick up heavy water jugs easily which is big, because my illness needs a lot of water consumption for optimal health. This means having jugs in my bedroom at the ready, and I don’t have to bend over for them now. Just a great tool at a great price point. Haven’t used the carry bag, but it’s a nice touch. RMS if you read this, I love your grabbers. Please offer a version for heavier items too. Also, if you could add a magnetic ability to the tips somehow, it would help with small light weight items that are hard to grab like flatter metal items. I’d also LOVE to see a collapsible magnetic grabber magnet for things like my dog’s metal food n water bowls which are set inside of a tray making them Un-grabbable with standard grabbers. They need a magnetic tool, but the ones on the market aren’t a perfect solution. I’d bet RMS could design something awesome for this purpose.

I have arthritis and have been using a similar dressing tool for probably 15 years. The side of the hook I use most finally snapped so I chose this to replace it. I like that it’s got a removable center section so you can change the size. The long version is great with the shoe horn and the shorter version is best for putting things over my head - shirts, necklaces, etc. That said, I noticed that the screw connection isn’t solid. Each time I use it, it starts to loosen which makes it wobbly. I could tape it together at the joint but then I’m stuck using only one size. (Pic. 3 shows connection.) The material is also a bit slick so I think I’ll put foam padding over it which will also make it thicker and easier to grip without it sliding around. The hook, however is very strong and sturdy and is permanently connected to the stick. (Pic. 1) The shoehorn side is one solid piece so that will never disconnect. (Pic. 2) It’s got a carry case for either traveling or storing the extender conveniently. So I do recommend it but had to dock one star because of the loosening every time I use it.

5 stars, except the top third does not lock in place securely. The smallest amount of causes the handle to click and then rotate freely.

Somewhat helpful, but very annoying that it can’t “stand” up on its “hook” end. Use the hole in one end to run a cord and hang it, that’s the only way it won’t drive you nuts by falling down all of the time.

Does the job but it’s a little flimsy, I would’ve rated this a five because it’s very functional, but when you’re using it as a shoehorn, it feels like it’s about to bust in half. Perhaps it’s designed that way on purpose not sure.

A very handy tool to get me through the temporary loss of the use of one arm. A+++

I had just had shoulder surgery and was in a very constricted sling and needed something to help pull my clothes up and down, since I am able to only use 1 arm. This tool has been great. I'm using it in helping me get my pants down or up daily. I have not had to use the shoe horn because I have some slip on shoes. The hook part is great because you can also tuck it under your shirt on the side to help pull your shirt down in the back and side on the opposite side that you can't use. Also that fact that it screws apart is great it makes it smaller, which is great when you have to go out. The price was also good. It's also very sturdy. The dr said I could drive if it worked with my sling on. I'm a person who hates to not be able to go when I want and things outside of the box. My thought was if I could go somewhere by myself but I had to figure out how to get the car door closed on my own. I took out this tool without the shoehorn part. I thought I would use the white hook part to pull the door closed. I tried it a couple of different ways but it didn't work, so no driving for me until the sling comes off hopefully in a couple more weeks. I also love that it comes with a storage bag.

I have only used this as a shoe horn so I cannot comment on how well it may or may not work for its other potential purposes. As a shoe horn, it's great. The two lengths to which it can be adjusted are helpful, just as described. I have purchased a second one for trips and the accompanying bag is quite convenient for that.

Like the item but do not understand how the curved end helps with socks

The dressing stick is very helpful getting dressed, especially putting on my shirts and getting them all. I’ve had sugar replacement in both shoulders. The first surgery didn’t go so well and I can’t use my right arm like I should so it helps very much. I recommend it.

Great item. Recommend to me by occupational therapist. A big help.

This is the best item yet. I actually use the hook part to help me pull my driver side door closed when I’m in the car and the bottom part which is the shoehorn I actually have attached that to something else to help me in the bathroom with reaching my feet, so I actually have two things I use this for and it’s amazing. I love the sturdiness of it and the length is perfect.

The product came quickly and is well made. But because of my own disability, and recent surgery it was hard for me to use. You need at least one good arm to use it.

Item is priced right. But, it would be VERY usefull if it didn't come apart so easily when using either end of the item. Shoe horn and the hooks are very handy but really frustrating because they loosen up suring use and become useless. Would NOT recommend without issue addressed.

I used this after shoulder surgery. The S-curve really helps with getting clothes on and off, especially jackets and outer layers. The length is appropriate for me to use the shoe heel end. I also use it as my “PVC pipe” for physical therapy exercises. I was able to travel with it (after disassembling) and it worked well at the destination after I put it back together. Sometimes the sections become a little loose but I find it easy to twist-tighten the screw attachments and it stays that way for awhile. Reasonably sturdy plastic, although I didn’t try to break it; I actually used it in place of a plastic grabber stick that had broken. Excellent value for the use I’ve gotten from it.

With recent orthopedic surgery and other issues this stick is extremely helpful and I use it many times a day. I do not use the shoe horn portion as it is really too thick to put in a shoe and work correctly. But the other end is 5 stars!

I have used this dressing stick to put on shoes takeoff pants takeoff, socks very good product. Well worth the money. Well recommended in fact I have purchased two of them.
