Customize tension and arch alignment using the easy-adjust strap system until it feels secure but comfortable.

3

Sleep and Recover

Wear throughout the night as the lightweight design maintains optimal dorsal position while you rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size should I choose?

The Small size typically fits women's shoe sizes 5-8 and men's 4-7, while the Large fits women's 8.5+ and men's 7.5+. Measure your foot length and refer to the size guide for the most accurate fit.

Can I wear this on either foot?

Yes, the splint is designed with universal compatibility and can be adjusted to fit comfortably on your left or right foot.

How long should I wear it each night?

Most users wear the splint for 6-8 hours during sleep. Start with shorter periods if needed and gradually increase wear time as you adjust to the dorsal positioning.

Will this fit over socks?

The splint is designed to be worn directly on skin for optimal grip and alignment, though thin socks may be worn if preferred without compromising the slip-resistant base.

How do I clean and maintain the splint?

Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry completely before next use. Avoid machine washing or submerging in water to preserve the materials and straps.

It’s ok so far

I’ve got a wide foot, take a size 9, high arches and my calves are on the large side. I went back and forth between a large and small and finally went with the small. I have pretty bad plantar fasciitis in my right foot and I can’t be off it for more than 30 mins. When I get up it’s like the bottom of my foot is broken until I work it out. Severe pain. I had a dorsal brace decades ago and it was the only thing I could sleep in so that’s what I went looking for. I got it today (11/10) and put it on immediately. For the most part, it’s comfortable. I can walk in it but wouldn’t do so other than getting up to get something and go back to sitting or laying down. Cushioning is good (for now). As you can see from the pictures, it’s not really stretching or laying flat on my shin. I’d probably have to tighten the straps so much, it would dig in and possibly cut off circulation. The curve for the shin is definitely for a smaller leg, but it’s not that big of a deal. Lots of cushion there so it’s comfortable. My foot is definitely being held up but not a good 90° angle. Be careful with the Velcro and line it up. If any hangs over it’s going rub and cut into your skin. I’ll update this review after I wear it for some time.

Absolutely works, especially for plantar fascitis

I've had plantar fascitis twice before this, my third time. I had had a splint similar to this one before but couldn't find where I put it and ended up buying this one which was exactly the same type. I'm an active person that goes walking and/or biking every day so the plantar fascitis can really put a crimp in my day. The splint works wonders when I wear it at night. If you're unfamiliar with how this type of splint works, it is designed to keep your foot at a 90 degree angle position at night while you sleep. What this does is prevent the muscle in the bottom of your foot that is effected by the fascitis from getting tight during the night. This tightness is what causes you to practically be limping when you get up in the morning. This splint will stretch out that muscle so that you're not in as much pain the next morning. The splint is completely adjustable in all three areas where it hugs your leg. I find it quite comfortable at night and don't really notice that I have it on. The straps are velcro and they are quite long so if you have thicker calves you should be okay with this. I wear 9 1/2 women's shoe size and have thicker calves (i.e. I wear plus size riding boots) and it fits quite well. It helps me a great deal and I definitely find it to be worth wearing at night. Just a warning, plantar fascitis takes a really long time to fully heal. The first time was a year and the second time was 9 months. One other nice feature is that it has a small removable rubber pad that fits on the bottom of the splint at the ball of your feet. This stops you from slipping as you're walking around. I don't use it because I only wear the splint in bed but it's nice if you need to walk around so you won't fall.

VERY good product!

This affordable brace has really helped me to overcome plantar fasciitis. It is light and comfortable. I wear it to bed. I could wear it during the day as well, but it helps so much during the night that I truly feel that I am making progress as I sleep. I have purchased two. The Velcro wears out after a year or so. I wish I could just replace the Velcro straps. I should mention that I discovered this product because a dear friend had plantar fasciitis so bad that she required surgery. This is the product that her doctor/hospital sent her home with for recovery! That was enough for me, to know that it was doctor recommended.

Love this - I bought 2

Love this - I bought 2. I have plantar faciitis in both feet and achilles tendonitis in one foot. I bought several other styles of night splints trying to buy the perfect one and these were far more comfortable effective than any of the other ones. I've been using them for a couple of months now. The velcro has loosened up a little in that time. So my feet don't remain flexed at 90 degrees all the time. I think it feels like they are pointed, but when I look, it is only slightly below 90 degrees and it has proven to be enough for me. My achilles tendonitis is almost completely resolved (I had that for a long time - not a year, but longer than I can remember). My plantar faciitis has been going on for more years than I can remember. And using these at night has helped that significantly. I actually happened to get a cortisone shot in my feet for the plantar faciitis around the same time I got these so I couldn't tell which was helping more. After a moth or so,I found myself not being able to put on my night splints for a couple of days in a row and my feet got excruciating again. So never again - I will always wear them. I can see having to replace them at some point in time because the velcro is going to wear out. But at this price, that's ok. Oh - one thing to add .... I mentioned that I bought 2. I wear them nightly on both feet and am still able to sleep with them on. That says a lot right there. The one improvement I could see would be to add a strap to help keep the foot more flexed - from the plastic part nearer to toe are to the plastic part highest on the shin. But I did buy a pair that had just that, and they just didn't fit right. These fit so I can live without the extra flex support.

If you want a straight jacket for your feet these are for you

I have Plantar fasciitis and heel spurs so my feet really kill me. I have had the cortisone shots, and professional orthodontics made, my insurance doesn't cover the full price and they are $800 so I just buy my own and found they hold up better then the ones the podiastrist had made. I also have wear compression socks. which seem to help. My problem with this dorsal splint, is it is very awkward and hard to get on and even harder to get off and they just don't seem to fit as well as they should on the upper part of your leg where you secure them and my leg is normal size not to big not to small. Being able to walk in them is iffy, they are not sturdy and can surely cause you to fall. The bottom part of the splint that your foot rest on is 2 pieces that velcro pulls together, I don't know why it couldn't have just been one solid piece. There is also a little velcro tab for the bottom I guess to make it easy to walk but it is not easy to walk in these and so hard to get them off the straps stick together and it is a mess to get them off. The design is totally flawed imo. The footbed should be solid one piece not 2 pieces the push together. The velcro tab that holds the foot tab does not stay in place making the two pieces of the footbed not stay together. The velcro piece on the bottom slips around and if you have animals everything piece of hair will stick to these splints. The upper velcro tabs are extremely hard to get on, they stick to each other and you have to constantly struggle and pull them apart and they don't wrap easily. If you think you getting out of these quickly think again as you will not. Kinda disappointed, I wear them but not sure they do much good. I would not buy them again and would suggest you choose carefully. The picture doesn't show that it is not a solid footbed, you can not walk safely in these as suggested and they are like getting out of a straight jacket.

The pain relief is worth getting used to a little bulk

I am surprisingly pleased with this! I resisted a night splint for a long time due to the fear that it would be difficult to sleep with. And I'll admit, it's not like wearing a nice, soft sock. But it's not so bad. It's lighter than I expected, although a little bulkier around the foot than it looks in the photo. A friend who worked on plantar fasciitis research recommended this dorsal design as being similar to what the podiatrists would recommend. It's easy to put on (so much easier than the homemade contraption I was assembling every night) and not hard to walk in. I put a sock under it, so not sure how it would feel on bare skin. I also put a stretched-out sock over the foot to hopefully soften the edges a bit if I were to accidentally kick my partner. So far, he has not complained of discomfort from me knocking him with it. I do have to be a little more aware during the night of positioning my leg. Of course the important question...does it work? I have gotten significant relief from night splinting. My last fasciitis flare has lasted over 4 months, not responding to ice and a few days rest like it has in the past. But with splinting, I can go to bed in pain from overexertion and wake up pain-free. Those of use with PF know how awful getting out of bed can be the morning after. Now I just stretch a little bit and walk to the bathroom without feeling I'm stepping on hot coals. I don't think the effect is specific to this splint. I also got relief from my Ace bandage-sock-tape contraption. But this is relatively comfortable, easy to wear, easy to adjust, and comfortable enough to walk in to at least get to the restroom during the night. I don't feel any pressure points or pain like I did when I wrapped it wrong with my DIY splint. There's no perfect way, that I've found, to keep the foot flexed in the night without something a little bulky. But this lightweight design with its open back is not too hard to adapt to. The relief is worth it.

DRAMATIC improvement in just 2 uses!

This splint does not hold the foot in as much ankle dorsiflexion as many of the boot style night splints, and some have commented that this makes it inferior. Well, I'm here to say the opposite. I've have had plantar fasciitis for 3 months, and have tried icing, shoe inserts, stretching and a boot style night splint. All with only minimal improvement. The problem with the boot style splints is that they hold the ankle at a fairly steep angle. After 1-2 hours, I regularly woke up in agony -- usually under my toes, from the ball of my foot being pushed into the fabric of the splint. Some mornings I'd wake up with the splint off, in the corner with all the velcro still attached and no idea how I Houdini'd out of it in my sleep! The reason this product works is because you CAN actually tolerate wearing it all night. Better to have something holding your ankle at nearly neutral dorsiflexion for 8 hours than at neutral for 1 or 2! I have used it for 2 nights, and have noticed ~ 70% less morning pain than before. I'm a seasoned athlete who's trained at a very high level for many years, so I am no stranger to chronic injuries. Never have I seen such a dramatic change in such a short time. I write very few reviews for items like this because I realize how individual many injuries are. But this really inspired me to share. The splint is much smaller and lighter than boot style splints, which makes it ideal to take traveling and less cumbersome while sleeping. I could see where it might not be as effective for people with very small feet, but because the product's velcro straps are adjustable, it seems like it should be possible to tighten the toe section enough to secure most feet. If not, the addition of some padding on the bottom part of the toe slip would probably do the trick. Highly recommend trying this product if, like me, you've had trouble tolerating the boots long enough for them to work!

Still had pain

I gave it 3 stars because it was not uncomfortable to sleep in however I still had pain when I got up in the morning so I do not think it was not a helpful purchase.

Not a strong hold

It holds foot but not as stiff as what I thought it would. I had a different boot previously, cannot remember which one, and it held the foot in place better than this one.

Exactly what I needed!!

I have Achilles tendonitis caused by Haglund's Deformity. After finally getting in to a podiatrist after a 4 month wait, he proscribed physical therapy and the use of a night splint. I tried two other splints but returned them because the strap pulling the front of my foot was very uncomfortable on my toes. I saw this one and figured I would give it a chance and I'm super glad that I did! I've worn it nightly for two weeks, and coupled with the SuperFeet OTC orthotic insoles and the Oofus slippers that he also recommended, in my 3 month follow-up appointment I am doing so much better! I still have some soreness if I do too much driving or walking but it is significantly better than where I was 3 months ago. I especially like that it has a rubberized piece that attaches via Velcro to the bottom of the brace that allows me to walk short distances in the house when necessary at night.

This is the ONE to try for your plantar fasciitis - I tried them all!

When my plantar fasciitis kicked up this year I tried just about every version of night splints on Amazon. After reading the reviews, I started with the United Surgical ventral splint with the toe wedge. Although it worked to alleviate my pain, it was uncomfortable for me due to my fairly large calves, my foot would not stay in the correct position without the straps being uncomfortably tight, and the device was so bulky that when I turned over in the night it caused me to wrench my knee (which I had injured a couple of years earlier, so that was a problem). Next I tried the Futuro dorsal splint. This seemed to fit well at first (I wear size 8.5 women's shoes), but the problem was that, again, it would not stay on all night without the straps being uncomfortably tight - it even caused a bruise on my shin. Because it lacks a strap just above the ankle, my foot would soon work out of position, and I was constantly pulling it back up. Next I tried the N. American Healthcare 'sling' style strap. It has a strap that goes around your leg just below the knee connected to an adjustable velcro strap that goes to a neoprene loop that goes around the ball of your foot. This was the most comfortable so far, and very adjustable. It worked well to alleviate the pain, but again it would tend to slip into the wrong position over night, and even sometimes slip off. the neoprene also caused my foot to sweat a lot, and tended to crimp my little toe uncomfortably after awhile. Finally, I tried the Active Ankle Dorsal Splint shown here. Ureka! It fits well without the steps being really tight and uncomfortable. Works like a charm, and stays in place well all night. It is well-ventilated, and does not cause much sweating. It has lots of good padding, and is very adjustable. The semi-rigid cylinder that goes around the foot can be opened or closed to accommodate various foot widths, and the velcro straps have LOTS of velcro so you should be able to fit it on a really wide range of leg sizes. Having two straps on the leg with one just above the ankle keep it nicely in place without stress or bruising.Although the photos they show on most of the websites make it look huge and bulky, it is NOT at all (not nearly as bulky as the United Surgical ventral splint). It has not caused me any problems wrenching my knee when moving around at night, and I barely realize that I have it on when I wake up. It is pretty easy to get off to be able to walk to the bathroom at night (it has a rubber grip on the bottom for walking, but it is very hard to walk in, as are all of the devices). You can remove all of the straps and padding to wash them when needed. This is the one I am sticking with - get it!

Cool, Lightweight, and It Actually Works

The Cramer Dorsal Night Splint is a total lifesaver if you struggle with morning heel pain from plantar fasciitis. Its sleek, low-profile design sits on top of your foot and shin, keeping your heel completely open. This makes it significantly cooler and less bulky to sleep in than traditional orthopedic boots. The soft, padded lining keeps the rigid plastic frame comfortable against your skin, and the three strong straps hold your foot at the perfect 90-degree angle all night. It takes a few days to get used to the sensation, but the relief from those first morning steps makes it completely worth it.

Not helpful and not comfortable

Not comfortable to wear a night and did not help my pain at all. it does not actually flex the foot up any it holds it straight which is not helpful to keep the plantar fascia from getting tight overnight.

Works well

This has been helpful for my foot drop. Within a few nights of wearing this brace, I was able to put my foot flat on the floor after waking up. Before this brace, I had to limp on my toes for about a half hour while my Achilles tendon slowly stretched into place. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I find it a bit uncomfortable as a side sleeper. The brace is comfortable on its own, but my good foot rests against the Velcro and contours of the brace. I wear socks to help, but I prefer bare feet when sleeping.

As with ALL of these splints, decidedly mixed results...

Another reviewer of this product made a perfectly true point: A night splint is the ONLY way to totally cure plantar fascitis. Period. Don't waste your precious time and money on a podiatrist who will do one of two things, guaranteed: Tell you what I just told you and be right, or tell you to have surgery and be wrong. Do NOT let some selfish surgeon cut on you for this problem. I promise you it'll never be done on anyone I love! It NEVER works and most of the time causes worse foot problems than it solves. OK... off soapbox. THIS splint is a mixed bag. I've worn several over the years as I've had this problem off and on since before anyone knew the name of it, and fewer could pronounce it. It's main selling point is comfort. For a stiff splint it's light and fairly forgiving to the light sleeper like me. This means it's more likely to stay on the patient (that's you and me) through the night, which it MUST in order to do its job. The many people who are stating in these reviews that they wind up ripping their splint off sometime during the night are NOT going to succeed at getting relief from their pain. This splint, a sock splint, ANY splint has to stay ON throughout the night, ALL night in order to work. If your PF gets as bad as mine has at times, you'll get used to having a night splint on. This one's a winner in that regard. Unfortunately this splint does not heal my fascitis, although it may with those folks who have praised its effects. The reason it (while comfortable) does not work for me is simply my anatomy. I've got my Dad's bird-legs and a lot of give in my joints, including my ankles and feet. In order for this splint, a sock splint, ANY splint to cure PF, it must place a stretching tension (some, not too much) on the plantar fascia, the thin sling of muscle running along the bottom of the foot, for the duration of time that the 'injured' foot is at rest and trying to repair itself. This is so the repair work occurs with the foot in approximately the same position as it's in when you use it to walk. So for me and many others, a splint must allow more options in the degree of ankle 'flexion' (how much your toes point up toward your nose) before the plantar fascia can receive sufficient stretch for the tissue repairs to 'hold' when the stress of the next walking or running event follows the stress of the next digital dinging, squeeking or oldie-covering event. If that sounds like your foot, make sure you choose a splint where your ankle will not be locked at a single angle over which you have no control, as it is with this brace. Those splints are pricier but for me, they're the only ones that work, now that I can no longer seem to find sock-type splints. Those worked, but man were they HOT in the summer! (Read: The patient didn't leave them on like he should...) -Ole Troll

Good night splint - for active wearer

I got this dorsal splint on my own after finally realizing I had plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I had PF for nearly 6 months before my self-diagnosis (OUCH!), and wished I had known about something like this night dorsal splint right away. I believe it would have sped up my healing time. Based on my research, with PF, the tendon and tissue between the arch and heel need to stay stretched for long periods to help the healing and reduce the pain and inflammation. The following stretching exercises helped me with PF: rolling a tennis ball or frozen water bottle under the arch, stretching the arch tissue by letting the heal hang off the edge of stairs, hot and cold soaking, deep-tissue massaging, etc.... Nevertheless I found that I really didn't start the serious healing until I got a night splint. Some like the stiff big boot kind of splint, but I knew I got up during the night, and also knew if I were going to try sleeping in a splint that the splint needed to be as comfortable as possible. So, mobility, comfort, and ease of adjustment is why I liked this one. I could sleep in it, I could prop it up on my ottoman and watch TV easily, I could walk with it on hard floors with the nice rubber pad that grips the floor. I like that I could adjust the tightness or looseness of the fit for whatever I feel like. Is it perfect? No, but it is flexible for my needs. Suggestion for the manufacturer: for improvement, I would elevate the angle of the mold just a couple of extra inches up, so the toes and front of the foot are more extended for the best stretch (toes up higher, heel down lower). You do lose a couple of inches of arch stretch here because it isn't a stiff boot type with more angle, but the adjustable straps and arch support of this dorsal type help make up for some of that slack as you can pull the straps and support under the arch in tighter for the most arch relief. Additionally, with several hours of wear, the straps on the bottom sometimes move a little and need re-adjusting, and it would be super if that part could be improved. But that wasn't a big deal, just a little annoying if you're moving around from room to room some days. Overall, I am very satisfied. And you can't beat it for the price, I paid a little over $30. Shipping was on time, and the splint is durable, well made, and padded well. Realistically, it's not a magic bullet, as I still have to monitor my foot, wear good additional support in my shoes, don't over-do things on hard surfaces, going barefoot on hard floors is NOT something I do now either, but my pain is gone now. And if I do get irritation or a flare-up, I just grab my splint here for the day or sleep in it a night or two, and my foot feels good again. I would recommend this splint if you have aching arches, or PF like I did.
