Frequently Asked Questions

How long should each session last?

Begin with 5-10 minute sessions and gradually increase to 20-30 minutes as your body adapts. Most users find 15-20 minutes ideal for daily use.

Can I use this on a bed or does it need to be on the floor?

The mat works effectively on any firm surface including beds, floors, couches, or yoga mats. Firmer surfaces provide more intense activation while softer surfaces offer gentler sessions.

What are the dimensions of the mat and pillow?

The mat measures approximately 26 x 16 inches with the pillow measuring 15 x 6 inches, providing full coverage for backs and necks of all sizes. Both pieces roll together for compact storage.

Should I use this on bare skin or through clothing?

Both options work well. Direct skin contact provides maximum activation, while using through a thin shirt offers a gentler introduction for first-time users.

How do I clean and maintain the set?

The removable cover is machine washable for easy maintenance. Spot clean the foam core as needed and air dry completely before reassembling.

Incredible Back Pain Relief! TRY IT!

This product is the miracle I have been searching for. I have had chronic back pain for 10 years. Herniated disks in my lower back, nerve pain, sciatic pain, SI joint pain, hips and pelvic pain from pregnancies, severe muscle spasms, ribs out of alignment....you name it I have been dealing with it non stop. I have tried physical therapy which didn’t work, and I have been on way too many pain meds and muscle relaxers just to function. Even then I was in so much pain 24/7. I’m 39, but I felt like I have been living in a 90 year old body. Enter this little torcher device. This mat of 3,000 little spikes feels as scary as it looks. I laid on it for the first time without a shirt and my brain immediately panicked because the pain/pressure/burning sensation was too intense. I had read previous reviews that mentioned this so I breathed through it for the next minute or so. After that, the intense pain begins to decrease and a hot burning sensation intensifies. You can feel the blood rushing to the area and you can feel your brian trying to interpret these unfamiliar sensations. Is it pain? Is it pressure?? Am I dying? It’s an interesting experience to see your body figure it out. At the 8 minute mark the pain continues to diminish and you get very relaxed. By 10 minutes you feel like you’re in almost a nirvana state, even though there is still a lot of discomfort. Rolling off the mat is pretty uncomfortable although it’s manageable. Your back will be all red and you will see 3000 little dimple indentions from the points. It’s kind of itchy afterwards for a few minutes but that all goes away shortly. Here’s the crazy part. From the very first time I did this, my back pain has been virtually gone. All of it. The pain relief lasts almost a full day, so I do it once in the morning and again in the evening when I start to feel discomfort start to set back in. The only explanation I can think of is that it resets your body’s pain receptors or disrupts their normal pathways to the brain or something. I’m not a doctor but I can tell something was shifted in my brains perception of pain signals. Although it’s an uncomfortable 20 minutes out of my day, IT IS WORTH IT. I feel great the rest of the day and my whole outlook on life has improved. Living in chronic pain is a difficult experience and I am so thankful to have found something that helps get me off the pain meds and brings me much needed relief.

hurts at first, BUT SO WORTH IT! it truly makes an instant difference

I was honestly a little intimidated to try this at first, but it ended up being so worth it. The acupressure mat and pillow are great for relieving back and neck tension, especially after long days of sitting or studying. At first, it does feel pretty intense (not going to lie), but after a few minutes your body adjusts and it actually becomes relaxing. I’ve noticed that my muscles feel looser afterward, and it’s been helpful for relieving tightness and stress. The set feels well-made, and I like that it comes with both the mat and pillow so you can target different areas like your back, neck, or even legs. It’s also easy to roll up and store. One thing to keep in mind is that it can be uncomfortable in the beginning, especially if you’re new to acupressure. Starting with a thin layer of clothing or shorter sessions definitely helps. Overall, this is a great tool for muscle relief and relaxation once you get used to it. I find myself reaching for it regularly now.

Spicy!!!!!

Ok, so I just got this today so bear with me with my first impressions. I've been bombarded with the pilot branded mat but I cannot stand their pricing. The ProsourceFit Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set blows them out of the water on pricing. The mat and pillow are both filled with a foam that is purportedly vegan..? And the outer fabric is cotton. The spikes are plastic and sharp. Yes, they are indeed sharp. I literally though I cut my hand when I brushed against the mat by accident. So don't be dumb when using this. For my first time, I laid down on the mat with the pillow under my neck and my legs on the ottoman so they were at a 90 for optimal lower back attention. I did wear a light tanktop for this adventure. I didn't cry, or even wince. But I also like loads of pressure on the flesh. I laid down for about 20 minutes or so, adjusting the neck pillow a few times. After about 2 minutes I was able to relax all of the muscles, 5 minutes in the heat came on. Quite interesting, that. Then it was almost...cool? I don't know how to explain it. I guess it's like a river finally flooding the flesh. kind of feeling. Honestly, the hardest part was getting up, putting extra pressure on the lower back/tailbone area was slightly uncomfy. I'm already totally hooked. My back didn't hurt nearly as bad as it has been. I don't know what kind of magic this is, but I like it. I like it alot. Oh yeah, I also used the neck pillow as a lumbar support for about half an hour, that was good too! Kinda wish I had a second pillow...HA! I can totally afford that! Score :)

You get what you paid for which is not much

I’ve tried something in the past and recently feel like I should get my own set so I can enjoy it at home. This one has a lot of reviews and also good rating so I decided to get this a try. When I first got it, it’s actually extremely sharp unlike what I had before. But I figured once you have even pressure over it, it wouldn’t be a big deal, just need to get use to it. Overall it’s not bad, it is slightly shaprtwr than I would like. But that’s not what I gave it a 3 star. The reason is at the material of the fabric and the foam. The fabric is extremely thin, and it’s not a good material neither. I opened up the seam and the foam is quite a joke. It’s so thin and so support at all. It’s pretty disappointing. I know this item is not expensive so if you are right on budget and don’t mind the overall quality or longevity, sure give it a try. But if you want good quality product, you might want to look somewhere else.

So helpful if you can get used to it

I’ve been having terrible low back pain from scoliosis and a pinched nerve/disc. The mat has greatly helped even though it hurts- it still hurts less than my pain. I am also using the neck pillow as a lumbar spiky pillow that I sit back against as that is where my pain is. I saw relief quickly it still trying to work up to longer times using it . Both my PT and spine doc give it the thumbs up.

Try it!

I was a little of a skeptic when it came to the acupressure mat. But I’ve been hooked and using it every day since I got it. It is a little uncomfortable at first but honestly as long as you make it through the first 30 seconds you can make it through 15-30 minutes. I’ve already fallen asleep one time when using the mat. Immediately after using the mat, my skin feels a little like a mild sunburn but that feel goes away after a few minutes or so. I get a lot of shoulder and mid-back tension and this has helped a lot. I notice just general inflammation I have has gone down. This is especially great because I do a lot of lifting workouts and I can tell this helps with recovery. The only reason I give this 4-stars is I wish it had some sort of ties on it so I can keep it rolled up. But other than that it is great!

After one year of use, I can say that this helps in many ways!

I've had this for about a year now and decided to write a review. I bought a used one on Amazon Resale because it was about $10 cheaper than buying a new one. Although it wasn't sent in the original packaging, the item was almost new, had no stains or defects, and was in good condition. I lead an active life, playing sports and exercising every day, but maybe because now that I'm in my 50s, I often have pain and ailments all over my body. I've been trying out various recovery items and I decided to give this item a try after reading positive reviews. At first, it was too painful to use this on my bare skin, so I had to lie down for about a minute with a thin tank top on. All I felt was pain and didn't feel any comfort first, but after using it 2-3 times a week for a few months, I was able to lie on my bare skin without feeling like I am hurting myself. I continued this for a year and now I feel so good that I fall asleep after about 10 minutes of lying on my bare skin. I can sleep on the mat for about 45 minutes. This is a guaranteed way for me to have a power nap after a vigorous exercise and I feel refreshed when I wake up. Also, it seems to help pain in my back or buttocks when I sleep on it. Every time I use this item. I feel a great sense of refreshment and relaxation that nothing else can provide. It also helps regulate my autonomic nervous system. As for the head pillow, I never used it because it was too stimulating for my head, but recently I tried putting my feet on the pillow while sleeping on the mat and it felt really good! Now I use it only for my feet. I like it because I can massage the acupressure points on my feet which are not usually stimulated because we all wear shoes and socks all day. As for the mat, other than sleeping, my favorite way to use it is to sit on the balance ball as soon as I wake up in the morning and do some pelvic stretches while placing the mat under my feet. This stimulates my foot and wakes me up quickly. My husband likes the mat too, but how he uses is a bit different. He is 190 pounds (almost 100 pounds more than me) so it seems to hurt to lie on it (probably because of his weight?) and he says that lying on his stomach on a regular yoga mat with this mat on top of his back is just right. Either way, we both really like it.

Highly Recommend!!!

I’m 21 years old and shoe horses for a living. I’ve been getting stiff in my low back and neck pain. When I wake up in the morning I can’t turn my head or look up very well. When I do my stretches, I struggle with the “mermaid pose”; while trying to extend my arms and stretch my abs it feels like I’m about to pinch a nerve in my back. It’s started to concern me because I’m young, but I don’t want to pay a bunch of money for chiropractors and massages. I had first heard of acupressure mats from a Shakti ad. It looked really nice but I could justify the price. In the past few weeks my pain has gotten worse so I figured I’d give it a try. Still couldn’t justify the price so I checked Amazon. When I saw the spikes on this mat I knew it had to be good. I checked many reviews to see if it would work for me. The 2 and 3 star reviews of people saying it hurt too bad made me want it that much more. I’ve had the mat for 4 days now. The first day I laid on it for about 3 minutes. It was very painful and my sister thought I was crazy. Each day I’ve laid on it a little longer. Last night. I laid on it for 15 minutes. Here’s the general timeline for what I’ve felt: 0 minutes you’ve just laid on the mat it’s so painful it takes your breath away and your hands and feet are weak. 2-2.5 minutes you start to feel the numbing sensation, the pain is way more tolerable, and you can relax your muscles and sink in a little more. 4.5-5 minutes your back gets very warm, a wave of calm comes over you, and you feel like you can lay on it as long as you want. About 10 minutes I started to feel my pulse in my back and I was completely relaxed and calm. After laying on the mat for 10 minutes I have incredible range of motion in my neck and back. I can look side to side and all the way up with no discomfort. My back feels incredible. As soon as I got off the mat I checked with the mermaid pose and I stretched further than I have in probably a couple years. I was overjoyed. The calming sensation is also really nice. Totally a stress reliever. Initially I tried it with a shirt on and it did nothing so I went straight to bareback. Let me reiterate… THE FIRST TWO MINUTES HURT! If it doesn’t hurt it’s not working, in my opinion. Also, I put it on the floor so the only cushioning is what comes in the mat. What I wanted was a meat tenderizer for my muscles and that’s what I got. I couldn’t be happier with this thing. Another thing to mention. I saw several reviews of people saying it’s too small. I’m 5’10” and the spikes cover my whole back. I do use the neck pillow as well so there’s a strip at the top of my shoulders that doesn’t make contact with any spikes, but that isn’t what I’m targeting anyway. But for $20, you can move around on the mat if you want to target different areas it’s not that big of a deal. TLDR: Buy it. It’s cheap and it works. Painful at first and then warm and tingly after 2 minutes. You will feel amazing at 10 minutes. Greatly helped my back and neck pain and mobility. Great stress reliever.
