(Something to get use to) I have to get use to laying on it, because the spikes , after awhile it’s bareable

Update: The seller reached out promptly to resolve the issue with the purchase. Carrying bag has damage-- small cut in it. Mat was not packaged in plastic like the pillow and it smelled strongly like some type of body lotion or spray.

I love this mat it's such a relief for my back and neck after a hard working day.

Last week I had a really bad flare up and couldn’t move without having a severe spasm. I couldn’t get out of bed without literally rolling my body onto the floor. I tried everything from lidocaine patches, muscle relaxers, heat and ice. Nothing was making it go away. My back hurt all day today and I couldn’t relieve the pain. I received the mat in the mail, unboxed it, read the inner booklet, then I lied down on the mat for just 20 minutes and boom back pain is pretty much gone now. I am honestly amazed. I almost cried from the relief while on the mat. I will be using this everyday. I am so excited to finally feel like myself again. Finally something to take on my chronic pain from the comfort of home. Can’t wait to have my boyfriend try it on his back!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

I love the color and was excited to get the pillow and mat. I have had one of these before and it was too much. Now after a very bad car accident I somehow survived, I have been trying anything and everything to relieve pain. I guess my pain tolerance is way higher now and I’m using this to help me sleep. Seems to be working pretty well- I still wake up aching but so far have been able to adjust and go right back to sleep. I’m loading a video because if my 3 year old cat sees me lay out the mat, he races me to it- and I have to share. Anyway, I lie on it and set a timer for 20 minutes and usually hit another 10 minute timer. It hurts in the beginning but very quickly turns warm, numb and tingly. I appreciate this mat and pillow a lot!

I originally received this product due to me having chronic neck pain. My chronic neck pain will lead to tension headaches especially when I get stress. I bought this because I read reviews saying that this product helps with Relieving tension of the muscles which I believe will help with my headaches. After following directions I placed them out on the ground and proceeded to lay on the mat as directed. Honestly I think the mat is just not for me because I felt more pain laying on the mat then I did before laying on the mat. I think that the mat is too spiky which may work for others. The neck piece was the only one I felt like gave me the most relief.

Love this thing! I felt so zen when I was done laying on this. It tells you to ease into it for so many minutes and work yourself up to longer. I fell asleep on this thing the first time I used it.

This is the best money i have ever spent on something. Health is the most valuable investment. My mother has been dealing with all kinds of aches on her muscles and lately she really was hurting, she felt so stiff that she had a hard time moving around. She had a hard time sleeping and she was just miserable. I decided to get her this Matt and after only one week she feels so much better and she sleeps well now, you could tell in her expression that she is finally herself again. She doesn't express much her emotions but she said to me ' Thank you so much son for buying this for me because i finally feel my old self again and i feel better and better every day i use it' She would go to the doctor and all they did was her pain killers and muscle relaxers that eventually lost their effect but this product actually treats the problem instead of only the symptoms. I definitely recommend this to anyone really. since we all have some kind of stress and aches.

A bit of background, I have Fibromyalgia, and I am a licensed pharmacy technician. Not exactly a doctor, but I tend to know how the body works, that being said I am extremely skeptical of products like these. However, out of desperation, I decided to give this product a try. Laying on the mat, confuses your body to anticipate it is about to hurt, causing blood to flow to the area, not dissimilar from a topical ibuprofen or hotpack. This alone can provide some pain relief, but thats not where the bulk of the pain relief comes from. In your bodies anticipation to damage, it releases norepinephrine, a fight or flight hormone that works to inhibit pain. That is where the real pain relief seems to be coming from. These things being said, it can be very -exhausting- to use, in the most relaxing way possible, after about 10 minutes i felt absolutely sapped of energy, with good reason- that manner of circulation and norepinephrine release is energy intensive and of course sleep inducive, I would abstain from use before work/driving until you know how your body responds to it. I would also exercise a measure of caution if blood pressure or heart issue's are present in your life, diabetes etc. An entire neck and back controlled inflammation may be difficult on the cardiovascular system- so talk with your doctor. TLDR- it works, for 40$ it's a fine and effective pain relief tool.

Excellent. The storage case was a great touch. The only thing was it was slightly too firm,(especially the pillow) which I thought I would love, but it was a bit much to get used to at first. So relaxing after laying on it for a while. It helps me feel better when my back has been hurting, and it helps me fall asleep when I'm struggling to.

I bought this after seeing the shakti mat all over my Instagram and was hoping for something a little closer to my price range to start. Do I like it? Yes. I think it seems well made and good for the price. Do I feel an intense swarm of warm energy while I’m lying on it and deep relaxation? Not exactly. I have done two so far, one 20 minute and one 40 minute with meditation, in the buff so I could get full benefit. Didn’t notice my sleep different last night and I don’t feel particularly any more relaxed than if I just meditated for 40 minutes, but I do like the sensory experience and as someone with a lot of muscle pain it’s nice to have my awareness on something else for 40 minutes. Maybe won’t change your life, but still pretty cool.

Compared to my Bed of Nails which I have literally worn out, I do like this mat. Here are the key differences: - Firmer inside than Bed of Nails (BON) which is a soft foam - I prefer softer, but this is fine - Smaller acupressure buttons than BON - does not seem to make a difference - Sharper, more pointy, acupressure buttons than BON - good for getting the 'tingly' benefit in less time, but not as good as BON if you want to lay on it for long periods like falling asleep - Material feels a little rough, but has an 'earthy' vibe so I really like this. BON has softer 'sheet' feel. - Both are good to me and this material will likely soften over time. - Less money! - Always good. - GREAT for gifting - the bag and pillow this comes with is adorable and would make a really cool gift. Overall, this has excellent value and while I intended to REPLACE my BON with this, I decided to keep them both because to me the BON is better for long term acupressure and this one is better for a shorter meditation because the needles on this are really sharp. It's a fine balance with these, you want them sharp, but not so much that you need too many layers to negate the benefits. I give it 5 stars as the people who designed this put a TON of thought into it and really made it a good price and value. (BONs pricing has gone up quite a bit and their product is exactly the same as it was years ago.)

I bought this product since I’ve had a bit of a neck problem for years. I’m always looking for something that will help me with neck pain and tension. The first day I wasn’t sure about it but the second and third days I think I felt a definite improvement in my neck’s flexibility. I’m going to keep at it hoping for more improvement with each use.

Game changer. I have tried numerous of products to support my back pain and this by far is one of my favorites. I lay on it for 10-15 minutes a day and noticed a difference very quick. Highly recommend this for pain or tension relief.

I ordered this product more out of curiosity than anything else. I am 68 years old and have minor age-related back, shoulder and neck issues. I do yoga several times a week and wondered if this would help. I waited several weeks before submitting a review. The product is well made and works well. Since I have shoulder and neck issues I like that it came with a neck pillow so that I can work on that area. It takes a little getting used to at first, but I do like using it. I try to use it for 20 minutes once a day, often as the cool down after my yoga. I find it works best with direct skin contact. At first it is uncomfortable but it does not take long to adjust to it. I ask my Amazon dot to play relaxing spa music and to set a timer for 20 minutes. I find it to be relaxing. I am still not sure it it helps or not. I am sleeping longer at night without waking up which may be due to feeling better from use of the mat. I recently bought a contoured pillow to help with my neck so I am not sure where the credit is due. Perhaps a combination of both. If you are at all interested in trying this type of mat, this is a good product. The price is good and it is well made.

I believe this was a good purchase.. I finally got to where i can use it bare skin( I am sensitive and i had to work myself up to it) It felt really good, i almost fell asleep.. I recommend using it on the bed as opposed to the floor. The 4 stars is because of the pillow.. I found i couldnt use it as it didnt hit the right spots on my neck and base of my skull, the foam is kind of firm. To remedy that I pulled the foam out and cut a slight indent with a knife to lay my neck in.. It worked perfectly... I wanted to post a fair warning with the handling of the mat.. THE SPIKES ARE VERY SHARP, I cut my fingers as i accidently slid them across the mat. When lying on and coming off the mat, you must do it methodically or you can cut yourself.. Its an awesome Mat and a great idea for pain relief.. Highly recommend.. Although I would like to suggest the slight modification that i did to the pillow to the manufacturers, I feel the pillow would be more useful and more comfortable..

I have a lot of chronic issues surrounding pain, fatigue, and inflammation. (Ehlers-Danlos, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Arthritis). I was skeptical of this but willing to try this instead of another medication change. The first 3-4 mins myself (and my family/friends who tried it) end up rapidly breathing, stiffening up, and feeling like this is a bad idea, lol. I won’t lie; the first few mins (less than 5) hurt pretty bad. I have to be listening to something or watching something to keep my mind off of the discomfort and work on relaxing INTO the spikes. Then suddenly the pain stops, it gets much more comfortable, and I’ve fallen asleep while on it! (So has my family who’ve tried it). It really works on those “trigger spots”. Right now I can do 20-25 mins on it, and then I take a warm shower and go to bed. I am sleeping through the night or only waking up once now (instead of waking up 5+ times due to pain). I’m getting less muscle cramps in my neck and back since I started using it. I won’t lie- the beginning hurts and getting OFF the spikes hurts after you’ve been on it for awhile. But the consistent results I’m getting is worth it. Came in a nice draw-string bag with a carrying strap. Also came with a very nice, heavy-duty hot/cold pack. I also want to clarify that I bought this myself with my own money; I was not given this or reimbursed in any way. I was not asked to make a review, but I wanted to because I have been genuinely satisfied with my purchase. I hope this helps someone out there who may be on the fence of purchasing.

This actually works for me by relieving my pain and is very relaxing. I feel this was a great deal, and the informational booklet that comes with it is great, and has suggestions & tips, plus there was a really nice 'thank you' for choosing their product. I highly recommend this Mat & pillow because it was a really nice price, and is made very well, and is made of quality materials.
