THE SCIENCE

How Cork and Memory Foam Transform Comfort

Cork is naturally antimicrobial, moisture-wicking, and thermally insulating—keeping feet fresh in any climate. Its cellular structure compresses under your unique pressure points, creating a personalized footbed that supports natural foot alignment.

The memory foam layer works in tandem with cork to absorb impact and distribute weight evenly across the footbed. Together, these materials create a responsive system that adapts to your stride while the integrated arch support promotes balanced posture.

How It Works

1

Slip Into Softness

Premium leather uppers conform gently to your feet from the first wear.

2

Feel the Contour

Cork footbed and memory foam begin molding to your unique foot shape.

3

Experience the Difference

Arch support and cushioning work together for balanced, all-day comfort.

Ok enough to keep

The photo is of the project cloud pair size 6.5 on the left, and the other brand I compared them to on the right. I needed to replace the birk dupes I bought from Walmart 5 yrs ago, so I purchased these and another pair in a similar color by a similar brand to compare the two and pick my favorite. Short version: I will end up keeping this pair of project cloud shoes over the other brand, but these are not perfect, and honestly I liked my old Walmart pair better. Long version: They were both very similar, and looked like they could have been made by the same company. Even the boxes were similar. Pros: The color of the straps is nice on these. I love that even the straps are leather. The sole felt very soft and slightly 'cloud-like', but almost identical to the sole of the other brand that I tried. Cons-first thing I noticed when I put these on was that they seemed wide, and I did not order the wide width. I wonder if they were mis-sized them. The straps also felt loose and I needed to tighten them one notch, which is abnormal for me. I worry after wear I will need to tighten again and then the straps will curl up. The very bottom sole is a black foam material and seems a bit cheap and slippery. The other brand I tried had a little bit more grip on the sole, and the color was Brown which I thought looked better. I read a ton of reviews and originally followed people's suggestions to order a size up. I am normally a 6.5, so I got a 7, but it was a little too big. I ordered a 6.5, and it fit a lot better lengthwise, but still wider than I am used to. The metal rivets that hold the strap in place have a metal backing that touches your skin on the top of your foot, and I'm a little worried it will bug me as they stick out slightly. Neither brand I tried seemed to have very good arch support, not terrible, but not great. The sole doesn't seem super durable, since it's memory foam stuff, but I am not hard on shoes, so I think they will last just fine. Ultimately, I am keeping them, even though I dont love them, because I need new sandals, and after reading waaaay too many reviews, investing way too much into this emotionally, and buying three total pairs of Birk dupes I am settling and moving on with my life😉.

Good quality, very comfortable, will buy again

I’m very impressed with the project cloud sandals. For years I’m wearing Birkenstocks, but I wanted something on the affordable side. The quality is very good. They’re very comfortable. The soul is not slippery. I was. I was wearing them a few times and I didn’t get blistered in the front of my toes from the rim. I’m a size 8, and they fit perfectly. I’m thinking of getting some more and different colors. Happy walking!

Confortable

My husband has that other expensive brand. I have this brand. And mine are great! Soft and wearable. Leather upper that has conformed to my feet well. I have a bony high arch top to my foot and can wear these. I can wear them with socks or without socks. These are great shoes.

First pair was great, second pair cosmetic wise isn’t the best.

This is my second pair of these sandals as my dog chewed up the first pair. They’re comfortable and look just like the picture. Sadly this second pair I’ve bought has the glue/adhesive all over the shoes and a spot on the back of the left shoe looks like a scuff mark. That’s a little frustrating because my first pair were perfect! They still do their job and feel good but not the best looking with the glue/adhesive and scuff mark.

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for.

Dang they're great. One thing, they run small. Right out the gate I'll be real, I'm a guy with 9.5' feet. I figured I'd get a size 10, but after thinking it over I got size 11 instead. I'm very glad I did. Standing, I have less than an inch in the front and the back, maybe an inch total between the two. It says 11M on the sticker, idk why the 'M'. Tbh I'd say they're pretty unisex. I don't dig suede because it's hard to clean, but the feel on the tan leather version is nice and quality. I think they'll look nice with some wear marks even. Anyway, good sandals, good quality, get a size larger than you would think, probably. Quality wise- I got these because my grandmother used to wear real ones in a wet and muddy garden, so I never knew they were spendy (it was the '90s though so maybe back then the 'other' ones were reasonably priced). Looking into getting some and woof, they're a lot just for wearing around the house or to the store. Comparing these to my memory of the 'other' ones, the project cloud ones win hands down. On the comfort, the fit, the price, the materials, the selection, everything. Not even kidding. With the other ones the sole is real hard, on these they're cushioned nicely. You can still tell it's real cork though. I'll update later on how they last, and if they feel good after breaking them on. I wrote a lot but it got erased. Photo is with flash on for accuracy. Nice lightish tan color. Pretty resistant to scratches. The darker brown might be a better color though. Other brands I found in stores were fake but I can tell the leather on these is quality. Loving 'em.

Surprisingly good value

I love how these shoes fit. I wear a womens 7 wide but I was able to get a regular size 7 and adjust the buckles and they fit perfectly. I enjoy the comfort and relaxed feel when I am walking around in them. I am older and value comfort now more than I ever did. I was also so happy to find sandals with a genuine leather insole. That fake suede stuff seems to be in everything now and I hate it. The leather wears so much better and lasts much longer. The bottoms of the shoes will probably wear out before the leather insoles will. If they keep making their shoes like this I will keep buying them. I will be ordering more of these in different colors.

Good value for the money

I really like the color of these shoes, very nice neutral. I also like the quality of materials, the leather is very soft and supple and the foot bed is nicer than just plain cork on the part that touches the sole of your feet. I do feel like there is some support with the memory foam on the insole in comparison to Birks which in my opinion have zero support. Now, would I want to wear these to walk ten miles uphill in both directions? No, I definitely would not. They are a great option for me to wear around the house or for short jaunts around town. I am used to the support of my Hokas and they are just are a more supportive shoe. But, these are very breathable and I imagine they will remain durable as you don't wear them out puddle jumping. I'm not sure these could be cleaned very easily. Good value for the $$

Look just like the real thing but much better price. A little on the small side

Just like the real thing they have a little extra cushion to the middle of them which is nice. The only problem is I am a size 9 normally and these are a little narrow, so you may want to order a half size bigger or they will be a little tight. These were such a good price I gave them to my daughter who is an 8 and they fit her perfectly, and I ordered myself another pair

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I’m usually a size seven/seven wide. So i got the seven wide and they’re great! I probably could have gotten the regular sevens and been totally fine as well, I don’t really think it would make a big difference haha!! I love them! They are so comfy and pretty soft. I’ve never had a pair of real birks so i don’t know what to compare them to. But i’ve bought wicked cheap crappy ones before and these are heaven compared to those lol!!! I love these shoes!!!!!

Agony of Defeet

I really wanted to like these sandals. I needed a new pair of summer sandals, and they appealed to me for their Birkenstock style design. and that they were touted as having a memory foam heel cushion and raised arch. The other reviews sold me, and I took advantage of Prime day. I purchased the cream colored leather, as it was more in my price range. I purchased a size 7. I've been wearing a pair of Chacos which have been too long for me, so I needed a shorter sandal with less of a trip factor ( I caught the end of my chacos on a rug recently and went flying). Well, the 7 turned out to be too long for me, so I wanted to swap them out for a 6 1/2. Well, when I got the 6 1/2, they were just as long as the 7 so I still had the same issue. Additionally, the strap didn't quite go over my big toe like I need it to despite adjusting the strap. The buckles on these sandals are flimsy and I guarantee you that if were one to wear these frequently, these buckles will not last. I can also tell that the type of leather used (and it IS actual leather) will stretch. And the 'memory foam' heel and 'arch support' are almost non-existent. So the 6 1/2 are going back along with the size 7. I mean, I knew I wasn't buying a high end sandal, but I did expect them to be a little more sturdy and I doubt they'd last through the remainder of the summer.

Extra comfortable

I would rate this right up there with maximum comfort! I loved these sandals. They have been my go to all summer. They go with just about any outfit. They have taken a beating this summer and still look and feel great!

Cute and comfortable

I just love these shoes. They are comfortable with good support. I get compliments on the pink ones every time I wear them. I usually take a half size smaller in open-toe shoes, so I ordered a 5 1/2 instead of a 6. They fit well. I’m glad this company offers a 5 1/2, because many don’t.
