Again 7-15-2024 You would think Amazon teaches people how to be smarter. After this 1st epic failure I had the original back in the fountain. However still wanted a backup. I purchased another pump from what I thought was a different company. Here is the smart part. Instead of waiting until the old one dies and lose the 30 day return window like the other junk I purchased I decided to put this one in right away. Failed same day again. I now looked to leave my review and my dumb @@@ purchased from the same company. Not smart !! At least I'm able to send this one back for refund. 2 out of 2 died same day. WHY ARE THESE STILL BEING SOLD! I purchased this a few months ago as a backup to the original I thought was getting weak. I finally decided to change with this new pump and two days later I thought my dog drank water and record time. Water level was fine pump was not spinning every time I open a little cage door and start The impeller by hand it works for maybe 5-10 minutes and it starts working. The dog and cat cannot drink water because there is no water being pumped and filtered. I don't know why they would sell this as a working item when it cannot even last 2 days. And the fact that I held onto it as a backup is just infuriating as these people just ended up stealing from me I am now going to put the old pump back in I am glad I did not throw away. Do not buy this item as it is not built the same as the original. It has nothing to do with power or volume it just does not work as in the impeller doesn't spin. Garbage is all it's good for.

I bought a stainless steel fountain a couple of years ago and water pump just started cutting off randomly for about two weeks until it finally died out completely. This pump isn’t the exact one that I had, but I believe it’s an updated version of the one that came with the fountain. I cleaned it and put it in the fountain and it works perfectly. It’s quiet and the light is bright. It’s easier to take apart to clean than the old one. I clean it about once a week. I’ll have to wait to see how long it lasts, but I would probably purchase again if it lasts even just one year.

I'm pretty sure these companies are selling a lot of replacement pumps because we aren't cleaning them properly. This replacement lasted a year before starting to sputter, then eventually didn't turn on. I was about to purchase another, grudgingly, but decided to try to take it apart after seeing a disassembly diagram on another product. Sure enough, the impeller was clogged with disgusting slime. After cleaning all that out, it turned on and works fine. Btw, the product pictures included on this product post also include a disassembly diagram showing to remove the impeller. I probably didn't scroll thru to that one originally. Now I'm wondering if my original pump just needed to be cleaned properly (this is a replacement for the one that came with my fountain).

It a great product for a great price

This pump is exactly what I needed, and works well and quietly. I am very happy with the purchase and price. My only issue was the fact it did not have a USB adapter so that I could plug it into the wall, but that was my fault for not noticing in the instructions that it was not included. I am only mentioning it here, to make sure others who may need that adapter will know to make sure they have one already at home or will need to purchase one.
